Expo of Taste
August, 26th - September, 2st 2012
The Town of Food and Arts & Crafts
The
Gustaminori Corporation will enlarge and amplify its horizons this
year, by creating two true and proper islands dedicated to food and artisan products
within the framework of an already full programme of cultural and artistic events,
which transform Minori into an open air theatre.
The
success gathered in previous years and the great affluence of visitors, who have,
each year filled the streets of this pearl of the Amalfi Coast, has encouraged the
organisers to look beyond the boundaries of their own territory. They will also
provide space for artisans and farmers from the whole province of Salerno. A true
window of rare beauty. Together with the IX edition of the Eno-gastronomic Literary
Prize and the XV edition of Gusta Minori, from 29 August to 5 September the first
edition of Expo of Food will be held.
The
main objective is to promote the eno-gastronomic and artisan products of the area.
Skills which developed even in the most remote hillside villages and coastal communities,
this is a sign of an heterogeneous culture that has acquired knowledge and techniques
from many different peoples, each one of which has left unique and permanent marks
in our traditions.
Walking
on the sea front in Minori visitors can enjoy a journey infused with art and cuisine,
strolling along the streets of the "SALERNO.EAT". In
this area, food stands will be set up giving visitors the chance of tasting and
buying all kinds of typical traditional products of the territory; from local cheese
to fish produce, from local cured meats to traditional cakes, from hand- made pasta
to Amalfi Coast fresh citrus fruits, will be offered.
Walking
through the main shopping street visitors will enter the "SALERNO.EAT"
world, where meetings with experts in woodwork, ironwork, glasswork and textile
and of any element that man has been able to transform into useful items for the
decorations and for his life improvement, will be held.
Two whole days to increase the value and sell innovative cultural and traditional
products connected to the various artisan sectors by virtue of meetings and exchanges
of the "Made in Italy" with foreign Countries (with its innate creativity
and originality) and its multi-cultural influences...
This and more is the Expo of taste, the first gastronomic and art
citadels on the Amalfi Coast, a real tribute to the creativity, skill and inspiration
of many craftsmen who generate new emotions and a deep desire for beauty.
