THE PATHS OF THE ART
The ides of September
The myth
of Rome and its daily life. Rome is synonymous both of antiquity and of hypothesis
of a future closely linked to the past. The artistic route "The paths of the
art" will show you a very moving and singular effect: words and music, dance
and body movement, singing and playing. The scenes, set up with exciting live music,
dance choreography and performances of the actors will be repeated several times
during the evening.
Scene I
"The triumph of the Emperor"
In this scene will be represented both Roman legions' supremacy and Roman citizens'
VIRTUS. The Senate honours the Emperor Tiberius, who won in the Pannonia region,
but does not share his decision to live in the Capri island. Triumph of the Emperor
in otio in the Campania region.
Scene II
"A street in Rome"
In this
scene will be represented the general consciousness of Rome's greatness which characterises
the daily life of every Roman citizen, in all social strata. The emotions and feelings
of the Ancient Urbe people through theatrical and sound suggestions of the "city
that grew in strength and reached the sky".
Scene III
"The last days of Pompeii"
In this scene
will be represented the intense and suffered love story between two Roman slaves
and the ferocity of their master who refuses to give them the "manumissio"
act , denying them their freedom. The eruption of the Vesuvius will bury the city
and its narrowness under a layer of ash and lapillus.
Scene IV
"The dance of the Fate"
"Rome's glare and reflection"
The magnificence of Rome will revive in a rich banquet in the viridarium of the
Roman villa, witness of the typical Roman otium. Propitiatory rituals, seers and
priestesses, incenses and dance inspired to the cult of Bacchus, hallucinated and
mysterious atmosphere will frame the rediscovery of the ancient Roman melodies.
